So excited to play my hometown of Eugene, OR on OCt 23!
The Shedd Institute is such an amazing venue. I can’t wait to be on stage with my friends Dale Bradley (cello, Eugene Symphony), Jonny Rogers (check him out here – crazy talent: ), Big Fiddlin Sue Band (Big Fiddlin Sue and Tom Hunnel) Gonna be so much fun!
Not only will I be playing beautiful arrangements of my tunes from all albums with these beautiful players, but I will perform a 20 minute set of my newest endeavor: a musical storybook called Topsy Bonsai’s Musiquarium. It will be the first time I perform these songs, and even though I am still writing the storybook and the illustrations are not finished, I want to share the music like a workshop… because I can not wait. I believe The Shedd in Eugene is the perfect place to do it.. Please come and cheer me on as I take a new step.
Lucky Friday the 13th!
Here it is! My first music video in 19 years!
How is that possible? Well… the music industry had a lot of money to throw around in the nineties.
Then…… well…. you know the rest.
Thanks to Ernie Falconer at Still Nice Media I was able to make this beautiful video in Woostock, NY.
My best friend saw the video first before anyone and this is what she wrote:
You have incredible power in you, to express real emotion, and feeling that people don’t think can be put into words or art. It’s just a feeling that we can all relate to but can’t name..and post about how vulnerable we are all feel as mothers kind of like, give yourself a break, we aren’t perfect, we are all doing the best we can, even when we feel like imposters, a wolf in red riding hood’s clothing kind of thing.
Tiffany, thank you. You nailed it.
Everyone stand by for more news – shows, songs, summer music camps, etc!
First of all, this website needs a make-over (i KNOW!) so that is on deck.
I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF A RE RECORD FOR MOTHER MOTHER. MOMO2.0 VERSION – WITH A TOTALLY DIFFERENT FEEL. YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT. I TOTALLY LOVE IT. I LET MY HAIR DOWN WITH THE VOCAL, AND THE BAND KICKS MAJOR BUTT (JOHN W FROM LATE CAMBRIEN, TODD PERLMUTTER FROM BLUEMAN GROUP, JEFF TURLIK FROM BLUEMAN GROUP). WE ARE RECORDING IT IN TODD’S BASEMENT ON A 1 INCH TAPE MACHINE. IT SOUNDS WONDERFUL. CAN’T WAIT TO SHARE IT WITH YOU GUYS. TRYING TO GET HER DONE FORM MOTHERS DAY… HELP!!!
NEXT – MY KIDS MUSIC IS COMING ALONG NICELY. IT IS ALMOST DONE. I AM WORKING WITH JOSH MARGOLIS – A WONDERFUL MUSICIAN AS WELL AS FOUNDER OF GOWANUS MUSIC CLUB IN BROOKLYN (A GREAT PLACE FOR KIDS TO LEARN HOW TO BE IN A BAND). THIS IS EITHER GOING TO BE A FULL LENGTH ALBUM, A SERIES OF EPS, OR SINGLES SPREAD OUT OVER TIME. I HAVE A CURRICULUM BASED ON THESE ORIGINAL SONGS THAT I WROTE OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS. SUPER FUN, AND EDUCATIONAL – LIKE SCHOOL HOUSE ROCK BUT AOUT MUSIC THEORY ETC.
GOTTA BOOK ME A SHOW ASAP. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH ME?
MY SON IS FIVE AND IN KINDERGARTEN. HE IS ROCKING. SO BEAUTIFUL AND SWEET.
OK, MORE LATER. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE YOU A QUICK LIST OF WHAT I AM UP TO THESE DAYS.
Here is a music theory game I came up with for my Rockstrings summer camp in Eugene, OR. Starting Eugene-Springfield Youth Symphony Orchestra members and other string players from the area. It’s a combo of music theory, Yoga and Twister. You see? Music theory CAN be fun!! This is just a small part of the curriculum I am developing. I am getting closer to completion! Stay tuned young (and old) music enthusiasts!
I am so happy with the press that I am getting for my album Wax & Gold!! Here is a lengthy and beautiful piece by Tim Semioli for the Huffington Post just released today! It made me cry just reading about my friends in Woodstock, especially one of my best friends and producer of the album, Kevin Salem. It’s just a beautiful piece.
